Frequently asked questions

What counts as an interview minute?

A minute is billed for every 60 seconds your source is actively speaking with Aila on an open call. Time before the call connects, time after the source hangs up, and any calls that fail to connect are not counted. Your remaining minute balance is visible in real time in your billing dashboard, so you always know where you stand before starting a new interview.

Can my sources call from outside the US?

Yes. Aila supports calls from most countries and provides local inbound numbers that sources can call at standard rates. Outbound calls to international numbers are also supported. SMS notifications to sources work in nine languages — English, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, German, Spanish, and French — so the entire experience, from first contact to interview, can take place in the source's language.

Is the transcript data private?

Yes. Transcripts, audio recordings, and all source data are private to your account and organisation workspace. Aila does not share your interview content with any third party and does not use it to train AI models. Your data is stored on managed infrastructure with access limited to your team. You can delete any interview — including its recording and transcript — directly from your dashboard at any time.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. There are no annual contracts, minimum terms, or cancellation fees. You can downgrade from Pro to Free, or cancel entirely, from your billing settings at any time. If you cancel mid-month, your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period and you are not charged again after that.

Do sources need to create an account?

No. Sources interact with Aila through a regular phone call or a web link — both require nothing more than a phone or a browser. No app to download, no account to register, no instructions to follow. Reducing friction for sources is one of the core design principles behind Aila, because a simpler experience means more sources complete the interview rather than abandoning it.

What happens when I run out of interview minutes?

You will receive a notification when your minutes run low. On the Pro plan, you can continue interviewing at an overage rate until the next billing cycle, or contact us for a top-up. On the Free plan, you will need to upgrade to continue running interviews. Unused Pro minutes do not roll over to the following month, but your Free plan minutes are a one-time allocation that stays available until you use them.
